Privacy Policy

Last updated · September 2026

Vumote (“we”, “us”) builds remote-access software for your own devices. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have. We designed Vumote to need as little of your data as possible.

What we collect

  • Account identity — your email address and a hashed identifier from your sign-in provider (Apple, Google) so we can authenticate you.
  • Device registry — the names and identifiers of devices you sign in on, so trusted devices can find each other and you can revoke them.
  • Operational metadata — connection timestamps, duration, connection route, latency, packet loss and data-volume totals, to keep sessions reliable and secure.
  • Product diagnostics — app and OS version, device model, feature lifecycle events, scrubbed error details and crash diagnostics. Diagnostic events are retained for 30 days and are deleted with your account or device.
  • Billing and entitlements — product identifiers, purchase status, provider transaction identifiers, and relevant purchase or renewal dates so we can verify and restore your Vumote access. Our payment processors handle card details; we never store full card numbers.
  • Active-session thumbnails — Vumote Host may upload a small, downsampled JPEG from an active remote session so your trusted signed-in devices can show the current device card. It is not a recording and is retained only as the latest card image, until it is replaced, the device is deleted, or you delete your account.

What we do not collect

We do not store session recordings. Screen video, audio, clipboard and files stream directly between your devices over WebRTC, encrypted with DTLS-SRTP. Apart from the limited active-session thumbnail described above, those session frames never touch our servers. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Deleting your data

You can sign out of any device at any time, and revoke a device’s trust from the registry. You can permanently delete your account — and all data associated with it — from Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app, or by emailing us. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

Third parties

Vumote relies on a small set of providers: Apple and Google for sign-in, Stripe for website card payments, Apple and Google for store purchases, Cloudflare Turnstile for bot and abuse prevention on public website forms, and our own hosting for authentication and signaling. Each receives only what it needs to do its job.
